Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: 150 semester units (225 quarter units)

Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate with 150 semester units

Additional Requirements: 24 semester credits or equivalent of accounting education (not to include principles or equivalent)
24 credits of other upper level business courses
*You may sit for the exam prior to reaching 150 units but will need to complete your education within six months of your exam application date


Residency Requirements

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum Age: None

Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state

State License Requirements

Social Security Requirement: Yes

Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours (including Bachelor’s Degree) with 33 hours in accounting and 27 hours in business

Participates in International Exam Program: Yes

Experience Requirements: 1 year of experience (defined as 2000 hours) gained through employment in government, industry, academia, or public accounting

Ethics Exam: Must pass AICPA Professional Ethics Exam
