Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: Recommended 120 semester units

Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate Degree

Additional Requirements: 24 semester hours in upper division and graduate level accounting courses covering financial accounting, auditing, taxation and management accounting

24 semester hours in non-accounting business or related courses covering business law, computers, economics, business ethics, finance, business stats & quantitative methods, written & oral business communications, business administration such as marketing, production, management, policy or organizational behavior

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum Age: None

Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state

State License Requirements

Social Security Requirement: Yes

Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours (225 quarter units, including Bachelor’s Degree)

Participates in International Exam Program: Yes

Experience Requirements: 1 year experience gained through employment in industry, government, academia or public practice. 2 years experience for CPAs providing attest services

Ethics Exam: Must pass AICPA Professional Ethics Exam with at least a 90%
