Our Student of the Month for August 2015 is Gabe Martinez! Gabe was able to pass all four sections of the CPA Exam on his first try while maintaining a full-time job, a family, and adding a new baby to the family during the studying process! Why did you take Roger CPA Review?
I watched lectures from different CPA review companies. Roger’s lectures were by far the most entertaining while providing comic relief at crucial times. I figured that if I was going to be spending a lot of time in front of a computer screen, I might as well have fun with it!
How did you hear about our review course?
A friend of mine suggested it to me over her current CPA review course because of the fun and engaging lectures.
What was your favorite aspect of the course?
Favorite aspect of the course is Roger Philipp’s lectures. He speaks with a high level of energy that keeps your attention focused on the material.
How has passing the exam affected your personal and professional life?
It has been a huge relief knowing that I was able to pass all four sections on the first try! I feel like I am now a better accountant after having passed the CPA Exam. There was material on the exam that was not covered in school. Procedures performed at work now make more sense as to why they were being performed.
What piece of advice do you have for other CPA Exam candidates?
As Roger says, “If you study you will pass!” I whole-heartedly believe this. Roger provides study planners that allow for flexibility and keep you on track. Keep with it!
Anything else you would like to share?
I was able to pass all four sections of the exam on my first try while maintaining a full-time job, a family, and adding a new baby to the family in the middle of the studying process. I firmly believe in the Roger Method and I consistently recommend his review course to others who are looking to become CPAs. Roger, you are the man!
