Why did you take Roger CPA Review?

I had been working at one of the Big 4 firms for about eight years but unable to pass FAR. Not to make excuses, but a few factors contributed to not being able to pass, which included being a full-time working, single mother and a literature major who just happened to be at a Big 4 by accident!

As I moved to a manager level, a CPA certification became absolutely necessary. Three years ago I passed two parts of the CPA Exam, but kept failing FAR. So, I actually took a job outside public accounting just to avoid FAR! Of course I lost the exam credits but life is a mystery and I found myself back at a Big 4 in 2015. This time I made a promise to myself and to my kids to finallly pass the CPA Exam. My kids ended up knowing Roger’s jokes quite well during my studies!

Finally, I passed all sections of the CPA Exam in only 7 months (including a 75 on FAR), using Roger CPA Review.

How did you hear about our review course?

I did quite a bit of online research, read reviews and listened to the sample lectures from a few major courses.

What was your favorite aspect of the course?

Roger Philipp’s teaching style. I really liked his quirky sense of humor and how he instills confidence while explaining key concepts. I had laugh-out-loud moments in so many lectures. I used another course a few years ago and wasn’t able to get through the materials. Roger made the daunting task manageable and even enjoyable at times.

How has passing the exam affected your personal and professional life?

It’s the best thing I have ever done professionally! It gave me so much confidence and certainly removed a major hurdle to progress in public accounting. Personally, it makes me feel that there is nothing I cannot do!

What piece of advice do you have for other CPA Exam candidates?

Remember your motivation and remind yourself that there is light at the end of the tunnel, even when you don’t see it!

Anything else you would like to share?

To me, the journey is more of a test of will power than anything else. It’s the most difficult thing I have ever done and all the pain is definitely worth it!
