Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: 120 semester units (180 quarter units)

Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate

Additional Requirements: Completed at least 18 semester or 27 quarter hours of accounting at the upper division excluding credits from internship programs

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum Age: None

Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state

Social Security Requirement: Yes

Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours (including Bachelor’s Degree) with 30 semester hours in accounting (24 upper division) and 24 semester hours in business

Participates in International Exam Program: Yes

Experience Requirements: 2,000 hours of work experience earned in no less than 1 year but no more than 3 years, earned within 10 years preceding application for certification

Ethics Exam: Must pass AICPA Professional Ethics Exam
