Megan shares with us the trials and triumphs of CPA Exam preparation, all from the perspective of a non-accounting major. She currently resides in Pennsylvania, and has now passed all four sections of the CPA Exam with Roger CPA Review!
After 36 days of waiting, the moment I have been dreaming about for over a year has finally come. THANK YOU, ROGER CPA REVIEW! I passed!! That’s right, all four sections of the CPA exam, all on the first attempt! I’m so happy to contribute my scores to the 86% pass rate of Roger CPA Review. I had heard story after story about multiple failed attempts and I prepared myself for a similar experience. Regardless of the stories, I chose to trust Rogers methods and followed his suggestions as closely as I possibly could.
The day I received my final passing score was incredibly distracting. I watched my email. I checked Twitter and Facebook for signs of score releases. All I wanted was an indication that the last twelve months of my life could soon be a matter of celebration and no longer a lengthy, tiring study session. NASBA, like a turtle, slowly but surely released the CPA exam scores from the last testing window. I could not have been more overjoyed to receive that email. After a deep breath, I drilled into the .pdf attachment, to view my score and the word Credit next to my fourth section, BEC. I jumped up to go find my boyfriend and share the spectacular news!
It was incredibly sweet of my co-workers to share in the joy of my accomplishments. I received several congratulations immediately as they joined in my relief and excitement! It was less than an hour after the email was received that my boyfriends mom called to see if the score had made its way to me yet. She had been thinking of me all morning and having good feelings about the results. It’s been a long year, but the support of others has made this journey seem much less painful. Relief is the feeling I am reveling in the most.
I can’t believe that this time last year I was preparing to say goodbye to my personal life and re-acquaint myself with the local library. This was the most challenging year of my career so far, but I am able to look back and feel incredibly proud of what I have accomplished. I have to remind myself that life can resume now. I am no longer haunted by study schedules and guilt. I can say yes to plans. I can read blogs other than CPA blogs! I can read books for pleasure. I actually watched a movie yesterday! I can spend extra time at work and not feel so behind in my goals. I can finally start practicing Spanish- one of the things I’ve wanted to do!
I have a week of vacation coming up, and it couldn’t come at a better time. I hope many of you also received a passing score this past week, and I hope you take time to celebrate it! Passing the CPA exam is no easy task. Sacrifice. Determination. Discipline. It was not luck that got us here, but our own efforts. That is what makes the victory so sweet! Commit to your dream and devote the time. You can do this!
