Roger CPA Review Gives Back: Operation Gratitude

This week, we’re celebrating the launch of our company-wide program, #RogerCPAReviewGivesBack, an employee volunteer initiative where team members across the country are encouraged to take time out of their regular work days to give back to an organization of their choice.

This entire week, we will be featuring different employees partaking in this initiative in a series we’re calling “Volunteer Spotlight.” Today we’re highlighting Paul Wiese and Mitra Wilson who volunteered to create care packages at Operation Gratitude. Learn more about the organization and their experience below!

Volunteer Spotlight: Paul Wiese and Mitra Wilson

Paul Wiese, our Director of Business Development, and Mitra Wilson, our Associate Director of Strategic Alliances, paired up to spend their afternoon helping this amazing organization.

Operation Gratitude

Every year, Operation Gratitude sends more than 250,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment, hygiene products, handmade items, and personal letters of appreciation. These care packages are then sent to New Recruits, Veterans, First Responders, individually-named U.S. Service Members deployed overseas, Wounded Heroes, and their caregivers. Their mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of U.S. Military in communities.

Paul and Mitra’s Experience

“From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly faces and very dedicated volunteers. They made us feel right at home and you can tell right off the bat that everyone who was helping out knew what a great cause they were investing in. We sorted donated items, folded shirts, screened letters, prepped medallions, and prepared products for the assembly line in which the care packages were being made.” –Paul Wiese

“We also helped label, tape, and custom form all the packages as well as read and wrote letters to let our U.S. Military know how much we appreciate their services. And since time allowed, we provided instruction and materials for making Paracord ‘Survival’ Bracelets, Battalion Buddies, and Medallions. Paul and I chose to dedicate our time to this organization because we know how important it is to show our U.S. Military what they mean to us. Although we can never repay them for their service, we know that Operation Gratitude provides a start.” –Mitra Wilson
