Why did you take Roger CPA Review?

I owe Roger CPA Review a tremendous debt of gratitude – I was the winner of the New Generation CPA Review Course online giveaway way back in September 2012, which included access to Roger’s online lectures for all four exam sections. It was the first and only contest I’ve ever won in my life – I was actually all set to purchase the full course when fate intervened! But make no mistake, given the value of Roger’s lectures and course materials, I would happily pay full price if I had to do it all over again.

What was your favorite aspect of the course?

Roger is legendary in accounting circles for his energetic, stimulating lectures, which motivate you to keep plugging away until you cross the finish line. Roger has a very offbeat sense of humor and could easily have been a stand-up comic – I still repeat many of his jokes at cocktail parties and bar mitzvahs! Despite his penchant for humor, Roger never stops delivering quality course content in accordance with the Content Specification Outlines (CSO) developed by the AICPA. The textbooks are concise and readable, including only material that appears on the exam in order to maximize the value of your study time.

How has passing the exam affected your personal and professional life?

Passing the exam has opened new doors of opportunity which never existed before. I carry myself down corporate corridors with a newfound sense of confidence in my knowledge of accounting principles and other financial concepts. It’s also well known that holding a CPA license is a huge aphrodisiac.

What piece of advice do you have for other CPA Exam candidates?

NEVER. GIVE. UP! Hang in there and fight the good fight – you will pass as long as you keep coming back to your studies. It’s OK to become distracted from time to time – just stick to Roger’s course planners, which allow a great deal of flexibility in balancing personal and professional responsibilities.
