CPA Exam Requirements
Education Requirements
Credit Requirements:120 semester units (180 quarter units)
Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate degree
Additional Requirements: a concentration in accounting, or the equivalent of 39 semester hours in business-related subjects, of which at least 27 semester hours must be accounting courses, and the remaining hours in subjects such as finance, marketing, economics, management, statistics, and computers
Residency Requirements
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required
Minimum Age: 18
Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state. However, candidate must have a Kentucky mailing address

Social Security Requirement: Yes
Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours (including Bachelor’s)
Participates in International Exam Program: Yes
Experience Requirements: 1 year (2,000 hours) of work experience in public accounting or auditing, industry, academia*, or government completed after receiving Bachelor’s Degree and within 5 years of passing the CPA Exam
*If experience is gained through academia, you must participate in 24 semester hours of teaching college accounting courses
