CPA Exam Requirements
Education Requirements
Credit Requirements: 120 semester units (180 quarter units)
Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate degree
Additional Requirements: 24 semester hours (or 21 graduate level) of accounting, including 6 hours intermediate accounting, 3 hours cost accounting, 3 hours income tax accounting, 3 hours auditing, 3 hours advanced financial accounting OR Not-for-profit OR accounting theory, 6 hours of additional accounting above the introductory level
24 semester hours of business courses, including 3 hours business law exclusively covering Uniform Commercial Code and forms of commercial transactions
Residency Requirements
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required
Minimum Age: None
Additional Requirements: Candidate must be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state. First time candidates must have maintained residency in the state for at least 120 days within one year prior to the testing date

Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours (including Bachelor’s degree)
Participates in International Exam Program: Yes
