CPA Exam Requirements
Education Requirements
Credit Requirements: 120 semester units (180 quarter units)
Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate
Additional Requirements: 30 semester hours of accounting courses, including financial accounting auditing, taxation, and management accounting
24 semester hours of business coursers other than accounting
Residency Requirements
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required
Minimum Age: None
Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state
State License Requirements
Social Security Requirement: Yes
Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours (including Bachelor’s Degree) with 33 semester hours in accounting and 27 semester hours in business
Participates in International Exam Program: Yes
Experience Requirements: 1 year experience and 1,500 hours in accounting and/or audit skills verified by a licensed CPA and complete experience affidavit. May be fulfilled before, during, or after passing the CPA Exam.
