Why did you take Roger CPA Review?

As a full time accountant and mom, I needed a program that would fit into my busy schedule and get me through the exams as efficiently as possible. I started this journey 4 years ago after deciding to change careers. I was a painting major with a Master’s degree in art history working as an office manager. I knew the CPA path would propel me into something better and I couldn’t have done it so quickly without Roger CPA Review. I needed all the accounting and business credits to sit for the Exam, which took 3 years’ worth of community college courses. But in July 2017 I finished my coursework and enrolled into Roger CPA Review’s course. Within a few months I had passed AUD and BEC on the first try (with scores of 82 and 84), and I knew the course was going to be successful for me. During tax season I wasn’t able to study much but I still took and passed REG and FAR within the next 6 months. I passed all 4 on the first attempt!

How did you hear about our review course?

A coworker, who completed the CPA Exam a few years ago, recommended the program.

What was your favorite aspect of the course?

Roger’s jokes and personality kept me going when the material was less than enthralling. I enjoyed his lectures rather than slogging through them. The practice questions were spot on and so helpful. To be honest I never looked at the books!

How has passing the exam affected your personal and professional life?

So far I’ve been given more opportunities at work and a raise. I know the doors have opened for more advances, including eventual partnership at my firm. Finally having this weight off my shoulders means I’ve regained time to spend with my family. My personal life will be vastly improved now that I’m finished studying. My daughter was just turning 2 when I went back to school; I’m excited to finally be the mom she needs.

What piece of advice do you have for other CPA Exam candidates?

If you study, you will pass! Go through the IPQs at least once; they are really the best study tool. If I can get through the CPA Exam while being a mom, running several marathons, working full time (including during the tax busy season), anyone can do it. You just have to dedicate some time each day to studying: an hour or 2 before the family gets up or after the kids go to bed at night.
