Merchandise Inventory
Goods purchased from another company to sell to customers and kept on the premises of the store or in the company’s warehouse.
If John bought $4,000 in shoes from Brown Shoe Company and put them in his store to sell to sell to customers, the shoes he had in stock would be his merchandise inventory.
