NSF Check
If you write a check for more money than you have in the bank, the bank will not cash it. It will be marked “NSF” meaning “Not Sufficient Funds”.
When the bank refuses to cash your check, we say it bounced. Banks usually charge you a fee for a NSF or bounced check.
