CPA Questions & Answers

What do I do if I receive multiple job offers?

When considering multiple job offers, it is important to evaluate your end goal. Is this position simply a way to get your foot in the door at a company and/or to obtain some experience? Or is this position where you wish to remain long term? Once you decide your end goal, then compare the opportunities by following the steps below:

  1. Start with an analytical approach. Develop and evaluate a list of pros and cons for both positions.
  2. Follow your intuition. How did you feel about the place during the interviewing process? How you were treated during that time is a reflection of how you will be treated in the future. Did you like the office environment? Is the company culture a good fit for you? Are there good opportunities for advancement? You will be spending 250+ days a year working in this environment. Use your gut to decide if it is the right place for you. Some of these questions may also be addressed in your pros and cons list.
  3. Consider the base pay, bonuses, and benefits.
