Will a low GPA affect my changes of being recruited by an accounting firm?

The GPA needed to be hired by a CPA firm will depend on the philosophy, size, and clients of the CPA firm.There is no single GPA (grade point average) that assures you‘ll be hired by a CPA firm. Some firms will accept a lower overall GPA if there is an upward trend in the GPA and/or if the GPA for the accounting courses is greater than the overall GPA.

Other attributes firms will take into consideration are:

• Leadership skills
• Passing the CPA Exam
