CA 2014 CPA Licensure Changes: SB 823 Passes!

Breaking News…

In a previous blog post, we mentioned the following: “The California Board of Accountancy has voted to submit legislation to extend the time to file an application under one of the two existing licensure pathways. Thats right, more time! Theres one catch though, the only way to qualify is to pass all 4 parts of the CPA exam, by December 31, 2013.  However, once you get your CPA Exam out of the way, you will have until December 31, 2015 to obtain your work experience, complete the educational requirements, pass the Ethics exam and apply for licensure.”

The bill has now officially passed! This means that the current licensure requirements are extended for those who have passed all parts of the CPA Exam by the end of this year. If you’ve passed the CPA Exam by the end of this year, then you will have a two year grace period (till December 31st, 2015) to wrap up any licensure requirements and obtain your CPA license!

For those of you who have one more exam to sit for, we hope take the CPA Exam NOW so you have a better change of getting licensed locally or nationally under California’s current Pathways.
