Well that was quick! I just received my notice to schedule in my email today. It only took a week from my application date to receive my NTS. It would have been even quicker if my Character Reference form and Social Security Act Certification form (which were both sent by snail mail) had been received sooner because I received an email notice 3 days ago that my application had been approved pending the receipt of these forms. I am not sure that these results are typical but I am really grateful that the NTS is one less thing that I have to worry about.
On the other hand, I feel like the worry is just starting to set in. The CPA Exam is a big deal! Have I been studying enough? I dont plan on taking my first section until the end of January but its already December where did the time go. I have known for years that I was going to do this why havent I been studying for years (just kidding). Getting my NTS is really making things more real.
I need to start making myself more accountable for studying. I’ve decided to translate one of my best diet tricks into a study trick. Well, its not a trick but it helps me stay focused. I have always eaten the most responsibly when I write down everything that I eat or use one of those food diary applications. If you have to write down that you at that piece of cake or a candy bar you might think twice about doing it. So, I’ve decided that I need to keep a better log of my study hours. I’m sure most of you are already doing this but hey, I’m new at this. Hopefully, by keeping better track of how much time I am studying I will be more accountable to keep up the goals of the program. Roger writes out very good study plans and we should stick to them.
Maybe next week I will tell you how many hours I put in and actually schedule my first exam! Any scheduling tips (best day to take the exam etc.) would be greatly appreciated!
