Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: 150 semester units (225 quarter units)

Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate

Additional Requirements: 24 hours semester hours in accounting subjects (15 upper division), including financial reporting, auditing, and taxation

24 semester hours in business subjects, including business management, marketing, and business law


Residency Requirements

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum Age: None

Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state

State License Requirements

Social Security Requirement: Yes

Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours including Bachelor’s Degree

Participates in International Exam Program: Yes

Experience Requirements: 1 year (2,000 hours) of work experience covering a minimum of 12 months (not consecutive), fulfilled before, during, or after the CPA Exam

Ethics Exam: Must pass AICPA Professional Ethics Exam with at least a 90% and must pass Washington State Ethics & Regulations Exam with at least a 90%
