CPA Exam Requirements
Education Requirements
Credit Requirements: 150 semester units (225 quarter units)
Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate with 150 semester units
Additional Requirements: At least 24 semester units of graduate or upper division undergraduate level accounting courses and 24 semester units of upper division business courses. May sit for exam 100 days before graduation
Residency Requirements
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required
Minimum Age: None
Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state
State License Requirements
Social Security Requirement: Optional
Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours (including Bachelor’s Degree)
Participates in International Exam Program: No
Experience Requirements: 1 year experience (or 2000 hours) gained through employment in government, industry, academia, or public practice.
Ethics Exam: Must pass AICPA Professional Ethics Exam within 90 days of fulfilling work requirement
