The San Francisco Business Times partners with PricewaterhouseCoopers to conduct the research and produce the list. Fastest-Growing Companies are ranked on percentage of revenue growth from 2007 to 2009 (excluding 2008). The list compiles the fastest-growing independent and privately-held organizations in San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area. The average growth rate from 2007 to 2009 of the top 100 private companies was 211 percent.
