Throughout the year, we receive many inspirational testimonials from individuals studying for and passing the CPA exam. this particular story caught our attention. For those of you studying for the CPA exam, this one is for you!
Beth C. from Mississippi writes:
I had to write to you and let you know that I passed all four parts of the CPA Exam. I am now a CPA! I have been out of college for 15 years. My first attempt at passing the exam was when I first graduated college. Not passing two times and suffering through two miserable tax seasons, I decided managerial accounting was for me. This job suited me perfectly until I was laid off due to corporate reductions. Right then, I decided I definitely needed more stability in my career.
I applied for work and was hired by a local CPA firm. Surprisingly, the work became much easier after working on the industry side. All the information we used daily made more sense which inspired me to start studying for the CPA Exam, once again. By that time, I had a two year old so I found I could study early in the mornings and at lunch so that my child was not bothered with me being occupied. In less than one year, I had passed all four parts of the Exam on the first attempt.
So often, people have many excuses not to study, take and pass the CPA Exam. During the year I made up my mind to do so, my father was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gherig’s Disesase) and subsequently passed away, my husband had to work out of town the majority of the year, we were forced to live in a hotel while half of our house was being remodeled due to broken water pipes, and it was my responsibility to plan a trip to Disney World for my extended family. Needless to say, I learned that I have the ability to work well under pressure!
I could not have done what I did without Roger CPA Review (and the grace of God). Originally, I was studying for FAR with another well-known review program. I literally could not stay awake and was totally miserable.
I realized fairly quickly that I had to change my CPA review course or I would not pass the Exam. I bought Roger CPA Review’s courses Watching them was easy. Answering the multiple choice questions became a game for me trying to see if I could beat my prior scores. Treating it like a game helped me to figure out my specific weak areas on the Exam. Interestingly enough, some of the same questions that I had reviewed with Roger CPA Review course were on the Exam!
My husband would often refer to Roger as my “TV boyfriend” because we spent so much time together! Roger is entertaining which makes the driest material easier to understand and learn. I cannot thank him and his staff enough being such a huge part in my success. I am beyond excited to have the studying and the actual test behind me making not only myself proud but knowing my biggest fan, my Father, would be so proud of my accomplishment.
