Classified Balance Sheet

A classified balance sheet is a financial statement which divides the assets, liabilities, and stockholders’ equity into categories.

The assets in a balance sheet might typically be divided into current assets, investments, plant, property and equipment, and intangible assets. The liabilities might typically be divided into short and long term categories. Stockholders’ equity might typically be divided into contributed capital and retained earnings.
