This week, we’re celebrating the launch of our company-wide program, #RogerCPAReviewGivesBack, an employee volunteer initiative where team members across the country are encouraged to take time out of their regular work days to give back to an organization of their choice.
We’re featuring different employees partaking in this initiative in a series we’re calling “Volunteer Spotlight.” Today highlights our team members Madeleine, Sean, Jackie, and Andrea who spent their time giving back at the Long Beach Rescue Mission.
Volunteer Spotlight: Madeleine, Sean, Jackie, & Andrea
Madeleine Cheezum (Director of Creative Services), Sean Adams (Business Development Manager), Jackie Muralla (Senior Business Development Representative, Southern California), and Andrea Johnson (Business Development Representative, Southern California) worked the lunchtime shift at the Samaritan House.
Long Beach Rescue Mission
This is a great organization dedicated to helping better the lives of Long Beach’s homeless men, women, and children by providing food, shelter, clothing, mentorship, educational programs, career guidance, and overall happiness.
Their Experience
“We volunteered for the Long Beach Rescue Mission in which we worked the lunchtime shift at the Samaritan House (men’s housing). We decided to team up and volunteer at this organization because we wanted to help combat homelessness in our community and personally make a difference in someone’s day.
It was great spending time with colleagues doing something exceptionally meaningful. We helped out in the kitchen doing food prep, helped set the table, and served a delicious and nutritious meal to those in need. We also helped clean up. We admire this organization’s dedication to changing people’s lives, which was evident with the friendly staff we worked with and the many resources they provide to help others get back on their feet and give them a second chance.
