On Friday, February 22 at approximately 3:00 pm EST I got my test score for FAR. I had been waiting for Monday the 25th to get my test score. I knew that the NASBA states (which PA is one) usually release scores a day before they are scheduled to be released but I never in my wildest dreams thought that meant scores due to be released on Monday could be released on Friday! I think I was more nervous on Friday then I was on test day.
All day I had been following a CPA Exam forum, waiting for one person to say that they got their score. That first person finally chimed in around 2:30 and then I was hitting that score button on the NASBA Candidate Online Advisory Score site repeatedly for the next 30 minutes more than I had already been hitting it all day.
I had no idea how I did. I kept saying, to those who would ask, that I wouldn’t be surprised either way. I was pretty optimistic but I also did not want to look like a jerk and say I thought I passed and then fail. Quite honestly, I felt like I had done mediocre on the multiple choice questions but that I had done well on the simulations.
On score release day, as I kept hitting the score button trying to hold back my reaction my score finally appeared. I think at first I was just so surprised that anything showed up on this screen that I had been staring at for so long. I wish the score had been color coded like the Wiley practice sessions. Its much easier to recognize red for fail and green for pass then to see a number with no other explanation staring at you. Of course we all know that we need a 75 to pass but for a split second, looking at that number meant nothing to me.
Then it started to dawn on me I passed. Wait? Is 79 higher or lower than 75? Seriously, for a split second there I could not remember.
I have been singing Roger’s praises to anyone who would listen and now I have some proof. The Roger CPA Review is what helped me pass FAR and I wouldn’t use any other course to study for the next three sections. Next on my CPA journey is AUD. I’d like to take AUD in May to try to avoid the new changes coming up plus my NTS expires in June.
